MVDP drops the worlds best at Strade Bianche & Paris-Nice Preview

The first Dutchman to do it, Mathieu van der Poel wins Strade Bianche, simply outclassing the worlds best cyclists and dismantling the race through a series of attacks at key moments. MVDP and Julian Alaphilippe proved to have the best legs on the day seeming to always have an edge even on the elite lead group which included Egan Bernal, Wout Van Aert, Tadej Pogacar, Tom Pidcock and a great show of strength by Michael Gogl. This is the first time that Wout has not finished on the podium in his 4 attempts at this race, finishing 4th today. Of the 15 times that Wout and Mathieu have raced together on the road, one of them has won 9 times! They simply elevate the sport. I also preview Paris-Nice the race to the sun.
